Gene profiling of pathological cardiac hypertrophy vs physiological hypertrophy
  • organism-icon Mus musculus
  • sample-icon 23 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge Icon

Description

Cardiac hypertrophy can lead to heart failure, and is induced either by physiological stimuli eg postnatal development, chronic exercise training or pathological stimuli eg pressure or volume overload. Majority of new therapies for heart failure has mixed outcomes. A combined mouse model and oligo-array approach are used to examine whether phosphoinositide 3-kinase (p110-alpha isoform) activity is critical for maintenance of cardiac function and long-term survival in a setting of heart failure. The significance and expected outcome are to recognise genes involved in models of heart failure ie pathological- vs physiology-hypertrophy, and examine the molecular mechanisms responsible for such activity.

Publication Title

PI3K(p110 alpha) protects against myocardial infarction-induced heart failure: identification of PI3K-regulated miRNA and mRNA.

Gene profiling of naive, virus-induced and inflammatory-induced memory CD8 T lymphocytes in homeostatic condition and after stimulation.
  • organism-icon Mus musculus
  • sample-icon 36 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge Icon

Description

Transcriptome analysis comparing naive, protective and non-protective spleen memory CD8 T lymphocytes were conducted to identify key functions associated with memory CD8-mediated immune protection. Memory CD8 T cells generated in response to influenza or vaccinia infection (Flu-memory and VV-memory) were compared to inflammatory memory cells (TIM) that were generated by peptide in inflammatory context. Gene expression analysis was performed on quiescent and re-stimulated CD8 T cells.

Publication Title

Immune signatures of protective spleen memory CD8 T cells.

Gene expression profile of Dicer-deficient oocytes
  • organism-icon Mus musculus
  • sample-icon 7 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge Icon

Description

Small RNAs, such as miRNAs and siRNAs, are involved in gene regulation in a variety of systems, including mouse oocytes. Dicer is a ribonuclease III enzyme essential for miRNA and siRNA biosynthesis. In an effort to uncover the function of small RNAs during oocyte growth, we specifically deleted Dicer in growing oocytes and analyzed the global pattern of gene expression in these Dicer-deficient oocytes.

Publication Title

MicroRNA activity is suppressed in mouse oocytes.

Differentially regulated genes in control and c-myc N-myc deficient progenitors
  • organism-icon Mus musculus
  • sample-icon 6 Downloadable Samples
  • Technology Badge Icon

Description

Analysis of HSCs from control and c-myc N-myc deficient long-term hematopoietic stem cells. HSCs lacking both c-myc and N-myc display increased apoptosis rates. Data provide insight into the molecular changes occuring upon complete loss of Myc activity, clarifying the resulting apoptotic mechanism and the role of Myc family proteins in HSCs and commited progenitors.

Publication Title

Hematopoietic stem cell function and survival depend on c-Myc and N-Myc activity.
